Together, let's fix what's broken
PETRA KAUKUA, CO-FOUNDER OF EAT GRIM
GRIM means "ugly" in Danish and sheds light on everything dysfunctional across today's food value chain.1/3 of all fruits and vegetables are discarded due to beauty standards, overproduction, too much packaging and the exploitation of farmers.
EAT GRIM'S FOUNDATION
OUR TEAM
EAT GRIM was founded in 2018 by Finnish Petra Kaukua and Carolin Schiemer from Germany, who connected during their Master studies over their shared love for music and food. The duo has been working together since researching sustainable food systems and even publishing a book chapter about edible insects. Yeah, that happened.
Our Copenhagen-based company turns food that would normally be lost in today’s food supply chain into delicious products and services for people and food businesses. Our proud team works hard to create a vision of a more diverse and transparent food system. That’s us!

We believe that everyone is entitled to know where their food comes from and how it has ended on your plate.
We celebrate food in all its weird and funky forms, shapes and colours. Because look at those weird apples, failed oranges and disfigured cucumbers - how liberating!
We have created EAT GRIM to inspire people that sustainable change can be achieved through creating meaningful, positive and fun moments together.
We are fundamentally changing the way people eat without recklessly exploiting the planets resources in the process.
